About

New for 2026 weddings, The Ferry House has announced plans to build a beautiful new wedding barn in time for spring 2026.

Under the plans, The Ferry House will remain open for weddings until 30th September 2025, after which their diary will close for weddings until Sunday 12th April 2026. They are currently in the design phase of the development and are excited to be able to share plans by 10th January 2025 at the latest. Couples can secure their 2026 date now free of charge, paying a booking fee only once drawings for the new Barn have been confirmed. For more information, please get in touch with their wedding team.

The Setting

The Ferry House is a charming 16th-century barn venue hidden in the beautiful Kent countryside, beside the Swale estuary. Just 60 minutes from London, with multiple nearby train stations and taxi links for the remainder of your journey, this venue offers all the rustic charm of the countryside while still close to the Big Smoke. Panoramic views of the Swale estuary, bird and nature reserves and rolling farmland provide unrivalled backdrops for your day, with tailored packages to suit your needs.

The Vibe

The Ferry House is licensed to hold ceremonies in the Oak Barn or outside in the Oak Gazebo. You can hold your reception in the Oak Barn for up to 70 guests or their event suite, seating up to 180. They also have two ‘reading rooms’, the Powder Room and the new Garden Lodge, two bars, a lounge area, stunning outdoor spaces, including private gardens, a terrace, and accommodation for 70 guests*, with bespoke intimate, Twilight, full or two-day packages tailored to each couple.

The Ferry House offers five rooms, including a bridal suite, above the 16th-century venue. Each is individually styled with ensuite bathrooms, and most enjoy breathtaking views over the landscaped gardens to the estuary beyond. These rooms also include breakfast the next morning. Just five minutes from The Ferry House, you’ll find their self-catering cottages, sleeping 53 guests, where you can celebrate over multiple days.

Their head chef and head gardener collaborate to grow the food for their 2AA rosette in-house catering. They offer an extensive, varied menu to suit all wedding styles. As part of Produced in Kent, they are incredibly proud of the quality of their ingredients; all of their beef is from their family farm, the game is from their shoot and fresh produce is grown in their Kitchen Garden.

Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering for 2-30 guests, a relaxed twilight ceremony, or a celebration over multiple days, with accommodation for 70+, bespoke menus, and a dedicated planning team, The Ferry House offers you and your partner the perfect setting to host a heartfelt celebration, marking the beginning of your happily ever after together.
